Two of our favorite things happened, art and Stranger Things combined! Well technically it was a Stranger Things 2 tribute art show, but nonetheless it was RAD.
Over 50 artists showcased their paintings, installations and creations. We went out there to get some content for The Proud Show and the line was quite long, especially for “general admission.” By general admission we mean donations accepted, but you could’ve also purchased reserved tickets for specific times to go right on in.
Not only was the art themed, so were the refreshments! This was made possible by Burly Beverages, they set up a bar outside with bespoke drinks, properly crafted and named such as “The Upside Down Mule” (vodka, ginger beer and pineapple and lime juices) or the “Hot Barb,” a toddy with bourbon, cinnamon and honey-lemon switchel.
When you walk in, you will be greeted artwork representing the Demogorgon, Eleven, Will, Nancy, Mike, Steve, Jim, Dustin, Lucas and more! We really admired the variety of artists that participated, complimented by music from DJ Lady Grey. Towards the second half of the night, they wrapped up the costume contest and the winner was Eleven (rightfully so). Enough words, check the pictures from the show.
