Do you like playing with balls? Then you’ll love Spin!
We ended up here for a friends birthday party, it was our first time. Being back in the city is always refreshing, and we already knew this spot was going to be pretty rad. When entering, you will spot your first Instagram worthy shot, a vintage bath tub filled with ping pong balls. In fact, there are ping pong balls everywhere, all over the floor and flying about.
The tub…will make you feel like a child, you will sit in it, you will play in it. It’s ok, you cannot ignore the tub. You most likely will take a Boomerang. Check out the video below of a quick video inside.
Our story began in the spring of 2007 with a series of legendary ping pong parties in the Tribeca loft hosted by Jonathan Bricklin and Franck Raharinosy. In the summer of 2009, SPiN opened its flagship location in New York City. It’s is about having fun, not taking life too seriously, making connections and embracing contradictions. Today, SPiN has grown into a global brand, with venues in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Philadelphia and Seattle with more on the way. Our story is just the beginning as the movement continues to spread. We are united by ping pong.
You will also notice 12,000 sq ft of awesomeness. The graffiti and street art I dig a lot, really cohesive and not overkill. You will find artwork from Shepard Fairey, David Flores and more. There are plenty of ping pong tables, I believe 19 to choose from. The bars are fully stocked and cocktails were crafted well. Seating was not a problem here – bar, couches and stadium seating – take your pick.
